Adventure Calls

The wanderer awakens on this day
The adventure begins as a story ends

The clouds part their way
Toward the unknown valleys

The sun burns a path
To the roaring mountaintop

Help arrives from every direction
When arms are lifted to the skies

Now there’s a bustle about the station
And the train departs, exactly on time

There’s dust and soot in every crevice
But I can smile, since they’re all mine

In the park there’s a crowded presence
And a chorus of laughter, all the time

Languages blur upon my eardrum
Flavors mix upon my tongue

The lips of adventure have parted open
And call me back to myself

From the mist of yesterday’s dawn
