Golden Rose

Roses of red drip with romance.
Roses of white shine with purity.
But none can approach the radiant rose of gold.

Delicate, filled with nectar,
As bright as the morning sun.

Practical, resilient, composed,
A full moon on a Spring night.

Light spills from her smile,
And bells twinkle with her laughter.

My tongue is stilled.
Because no flower, not even your favorite,
Can capture your beauty, your heart, our love.

When I close my eyes
And stop to listen…

I feel your heart, beating from here, the same as mine.
A pitter-patter of flower petals
On a candlelit night.
