Odds and Ends

This book is the first time I’ve publicly shared poetry, but my love for verse started long ago. There are so many people who contributed to this project’s existence, whether they know it or not. I would like to thank a few.

My grandparents have had an enormously influential role in shaping me to be a conduit for these words. Their stories, lessons, and deep spiritual knowledge have made an indelible mark on me.

My parents are my confidants, and I don’t know how I got so lucky to be their son. Without their guidance and support, I would be nowhere.

My brothers Kaamil and Nabeel inspire me more significantly every time we talk. I’m glad to keep growing up with them.

As for my wife, Jackie – she’s the inspiration of many of these pieces and a pillar of my life. This line doesn’t do any justice to represent my love and gratitude to her.

Finally, I would like to thank you for reading. If you made it to these words, I appreciate you.

If there are pieces here that have touched your heart, I’d be honored if you shared them. Just link back to this original work if you do – poetry.thespoonful.blog.

I’ve made this book free to read on this website in the spirit of sharing poetry more generously. I believe the world can use more poetry, and this is a small way I can do something about it.

If this unconventional format fascinates you, let’s explore working together.
